Raymond Furness, CPA, M.S. TAX

Biography
Before starting his own CPA firm, Raymond Furness honed his skills in financial analysis, auditing, forensic accounting and investigative accounting by first working for some of the most prominent financial services and CPA firms in the greater Los Angeles area.
Having earned a degree in Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Raymond worked at Smith Barney as a financial analyst. He then joined one of the largest entertainment CPA firms in the industry, Nigro, Karlin & Segal.
At Nigro, Karlin & Segal, Raymond audited major film production companies such as Sony, Warner Brothers, MGM and Paramount. He also performed audits for major A-list actors requiring financial information about the residual income they were due from major film production companies.
Following Nigro, Karlin & Segal, Raymond joined one of Beverly Hills' mid-sized CPA firms Cutrow, White & Boroda CPA. There, Raymond worked on complex taxation matters for the firms’ clients. In 2001 Raymond founded Furness & Associates CPA's (originally Shahrouzi & Furness CPA's).
He has also conducted forensic and investigative accounting for the US Bankruptcy court. Today he has expanded the practice to three offices. His expertise has made him a leader in his field.
Along with running a successful CPA firm, Raymond teaches Federal Income Tax Law at UCLA. His broad spectrum of knowledge allows him to explore innovative solutions for his clients. Raymond received his Master degree from California State University, Northridge's MST (Masters of Science in Taxation) program in May 2011.
